FAIRMAT signed a contract with Airbus to explore new approaches for the disassembly and valorisation of carbon composite panels from the aeronautics industry, at a time when these materials account for approximately 53% by weight of the A350’s structure. Signed at the end of 2025, this contract is part of a research-driven initiative to explore circular reintegration solutions. for these materials, with a view to future industrial applications, particularly in aerospace.

Shaping end of life solutions for aeronautical composites
As part of this contract, FAIRMAT is leveraging its specific expertise to work on carbon composite panels originating from aeronautical structural components, notably wing structures and keel beam elements used on long-haul aircraft such as the A350.
The joint work aims to assess the conditions required to recover high-quality composite material and to evaluate its potential for reuse in demanding industrial applications, particularly in aerospace, where performance, reliability and traceability requirements are critical.
FAIRMAT: a proven level of technological maturity
Unlike traditional processes, FAIRMAT's technology enables the valorisation of carbon composites without reverting to virgin fibre, delivering comparable mechanical performance, a highly competitive cost structure, and a significantly reduced carbon footprint compared to new materials. This approach notably relies on Infinity Recycling, Fairmat’s patented process dedicated to the recycling and valorisation of carbon fibres within an industrial circularity framework.
This collaboration forms part of what FAIRMAT describes as an “epic year”, marked by the acceleration of its industrial deployment, the ramp-up of its production capacities in France and the United States, and the multiplication of structuring projects with major industrial players.
The announcement is made on the opening day of JEC World 2026, the world’s leading composites trade show, where FAIRMAT is presenting its vision for a more circular, competitive and application-driven composites industry.

Through this collaboration with FAIRMAT, Airbus is supporting the exploration of technological bricks for future solutions across the lifecycle of its products.

Founded in 2020 by Benjamin Saada, FAIRMAT addresses a major industrial challenge: the rapid growth of waste and the increasing scarcity of high-performance materials. Through a deeptech approach, FAIRMAT not only recycles materials but fully closes the materials loop by disrupting traditional industrial processes. Following a €8.6 million Seed round in 2021 and a €34 million Series A in 2022, FAIRMAT raised €51.5 million in April 2025, combining €26.5 million in equity and €25 million in venture debt from the European Investment Bank (EIB). This round was completed with the support of new investors Bpifrance (Large Venture fund), Slate VC and family office Cape Capital, alongside existing shareholders Singular, Temasek, CNP and Pictet Group. In October 2025, the round was extended by an additional €10 million in equity from the European fund Infinity Recycling to support FAIRMAT's industrial acceleration. The company employs 100 people.
