FAIRMAT signs a development partnership with DUQUEINE Group

FAIRMAT, the French deeptech specializing in the virtuous recycling of carbon composites, announces a development partnership with the manufacturer DUQUEINE Rhône-Alpes, a producer of composite parts for the aeronautics, automotive, medical, and sports and leisure industries.

Paris, May 5, 2022 – FAIRMAT, the French deeptech specializing in the virtuous recycling of carbon composites, announces a new commercial partnership with DUQUEINE Rhône-Alpes to recycle its production offcuts, in particular those used in the manufacturing of the Airbus A350.
FAIRMAT is expected to collect around 15 tonnes of waste per year from the DUQUEINE sites in Massieux and Civrieux (Rhône), in particular trimming offcuts, as well as “raw” material. The production offcuts will then be transported to FAIRMAT’s production site, FAIRFACTORY, located in Bouguenais (Loire-Atlantique), to be given a second life.

“We are convinced of the great added value of this partnership for our business and of the potential of the technology developed by FAIRMAT. It allows us to secure a sustainable outlet for our production waste and to contribute to the collective effort to develop the circular economy in industry.” explains Stéphanie Burgun, CEO of DUQUEINE Group.

FAIRMAT continues the industrial rollout of its technology

FAIRMAT has developed a virtuous recycling process capable of making carbon fiber composite production circular, giving a second life to this high-value material. The carbon and resin are mainly processed cold, which notably reduces energy costs and avoids the landfilling or incineration that is standard practice. Thanks to this process, FAIRMAT saves 41 kg of CO2 emissions per kg of recycled carbon composite. FAIRMAT is targeting a capacity of 5,000 tonnes of recycled materials per year at this first production site.

“For us, this partnership represents a supply of carbon fiber composites that strengthens our national operations. We are very grateful for our collaboration with DUQUEINE Rhône-Alpes Group and are delighted with this partnership,” adds Benjamin Saada, CEO and founder of FAIRMAT.
